Create A New Tab Bar Item Organize the Bottom Bar Set A Home screen Hide, Edit and Delete

The bottom bar is your app's main navigation. Like many other apps on your phone, you'll find this row of buttons at the very bottom of your device, which allows your users access to your most important pages.

You can have anywhere from 1 - 5 buttons in your Bottom Bar. A common bottom bar includes a Homepage, Activity/Lineup List, Schedule, Maps, and More. However, you can tailor these to your event.

Create A New Tab Bar Item

  1. To create a new item, click the button labeled Add New Tab Bar Item
  2. Select a screen to connect to this menu item using the "Feature" dropdown. For example, if you're creating a Schedule button, you might select "Schedule" from that dropdown. This Feature dropdown appears in multiple places throughout the app. For more information about this dropdown, please see this article.
  3. Enter a name into the Menu Item Name field. You can add whatever you'd like, and it doesn't need to match the name of the Feature you selected. You may prefer to name your Schedule button "Calendar," "Shows," or "Events."
  4. Choose an icon from the Choose Icon field. We have a library of icons you can choose from, or you can upload your own.
    1. Find out more by reading the Icons article
  5. Finally, click the Save & Close button

Organize the Bottom Bar

To change the order in which the menu items appear, you can select the dot group to the left of the item card to drag and drop the menu items into your new order.

The top-most menu item will be the left-most item in the bottom bar. The bottom item will be the right-most in the app, and everything else will fall in the middle.

You can see this order change in the phone emulator to the right of the screen.

Set A Home screen

Your home screen will be the menu item that the users see whenever they open the app. Typically, this is your home page, but you can change this whenever you'd like. For example, prior to your event, you might open to a "Buy Tickets" page, but during your event, you have it open directly to the "Schedule."

By default, the first menu item you create will be your home view. This is indicated by the purple house icon to the left of the item card. However, if you click on the kebab icon in the top right of the item card and select Set As Homescreen, it will change the homescreen to another item.

Hide, Edit and Delete

If you want to hide a menu item until a later date or remove a menu item that's currently accessible to users, you can use the toggle on the item card to turn the icons on and off. You can see these changes in the phone emulator to the right of the screen.

If you need to edit the button, you can select the pencil icon on the item card. This will launch a window that allows you to change the feature direction, name, and icon.

To entirely delete a menu item, click on the kebab menu in the top right of the item card. From there, select "Delete".
