Deciding on your app’s main objectives will help you decide how (and when) to position content and your calls to action. An app can have more than one objective. The following are some common objectives and an overview of how they’d be accomplished with your mobile app.

Collect Information About Users

Registration allows you to collect information about individual app users, ticket buyers, and attendees. With the mobile app users can complete a registration in the following ways.

  • When a user first opens the app, they can be prompted to register in the app’s onboarding flow.
  • For users who do not register in the initial onboarding flow, provide opportunities for them to register while the user is browsing the app. For example, as a call to action on the home screen, or as a link in a rewards section.
  • At events with activations on-site, attendees will be prompted to register if they have not already upon scanning the activation’s QR code.
  • Send an app notification that links to a registration page that notifies and allows an attendee to register before or during the event.

Tip: You can target using Audience Segments feature to display different content or push notifications to users depending on their registration status.

Successful registrations can rely on many factors including the familiarity of the event’s brand, the incentives provided to register, and the timing at which registration is presented.

Engage With Activations at the Event (add-on option)

Events with onsite activations can incentivize registrations and provide unforgettable experiences to your attendees. In the app, provide a fast and direct way for attendees to access the rewards section and camera to scan QR codes at the different locations in the event.

Drive Ticket Sales

Your event app is another channel in which you can promote ticket sales to your event. Provide a clear call to action early on to direct users to your specific ticket retail sites or integrations.

Present Tickets (add-on option)

If your app is used to present tickets through a ticketing integration (add-on option), make sure this is easy to find in the app so that attendees can quickly find their tickets to display at the door. 

Provide Event Information

Your app’s main goal can just be to provide information to your attendees either on your brand or the event to improve their experience. Do this by displaying all event offerings in the bottom tabs that your attendees can easily interact with, and display information clearly so they are not confused.
